With ambitious plans to expand our business, we are excited to be recruiting for a new leadership position to spearhead the business growth of Henderson Technology.
A look into the role…
Working closely with the Retail Technology Operations Director, the Commercial Manager will play a key role in driving the financial success of the company, including developing sales activity in NI, GB and Australia. The successful candidate will, as a member of the Henderson Technology senior team, evaluate commercial opportunities and develop strategies to support our growth objectives in new and existing markets and product lines.
This role will be very well suited to a candidate with a proven track record in commercial and account management and a strong ability to manage business to business relationships from both supplier and customer perspectives.
Working as Commercial Manager you will:
- Lead sales and marketing strategies to grow a profitable customer base in all our key markets.
- Successfully manage budgetary & financial performance to meet target objectives. This will involve creation of regular reports and board updates on progress.
- Oversee new and existing customer contracts, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Lead, develop & coach the sales team to deliver commercial objectives.
- Develop creative and effective business to business marketing strategies to develop the presence and brand of Henderson Technology within the industry.
- Attend trade events and travel to key customers and represent the company as required.
Skills for Success
Joining us as Commercial Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
- Demonstrable experience of successful account management at a senior level, including setting and managing budgets, sales development and cost controls.
- Proven business acumen and ability to deliver revenue growth.
- Experience of engaging successfully with stakeholders at all levels to deliver business objectives.
- Experience of successfully managing business to business relationships from both supplier and customer perspectives.
- Strong written & oral communications skills.
- A high level of computer literacy and competence in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Full valid driving licence.

- Curiosity & creativity- able to analyse and evaluate commercial opportunities and make evidence-based recommendations.
It is desirable if you have:
- Experience in EPOS sales.
- Experience in an FMCG environment, ideally in convenience and forecourt retailing.
- Further or higher education in a relevant subject area (e.g. Business Management).

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid and flexible working arrangement available.
