  • Assist with annual budgeting, budgetary control and the preparation of year-end statutory financial statements.
  • Review margins, costs and business intelligence reports to identify opportunities to improve commercial performance and profitability.
  • Provide financial advice and support to Henderson Foodservice colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ensure robust systems, internal controls and governance arrangements are implemented, maintained and continuously improved.
  • Lead projects that improve business-wide processes, working collaboratively across departments to strengthen information flow and operational efficiency.
  • Support the management and development of colleagues within the Finance Team.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A full accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience.
  • Experience producing statutory accounts for a medium-sized or large business, preparing budgets and exercising budgetary control.
  • Experience developing and implementing processes and procedures.
  • Evidence of successful people-management experience, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop others effectively.
  • Strong commercial awareness, customer focus and the ability to initiate and deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and a sound understanding of accounting software principles.
  • A current driving licence.

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • Experience designing and using computer-based financial models.
  • Commercial finance experience within the FMCG industry.
  • Experience using AI and Copilot, Planful or leasing software.

Are we right for you?

As part of this role, it will be important that you feel aligned with the values that we live and work by:

  • Ambition – We always strive to be better.
  • Customer First – We provide exceptional service and put customers at the heart of everything we do.
  • Teamwork – We succeed together and help colleagues to succeed.
