Henderson Wholesale is a leading Wholesaler in Northern Ireland and supplies goods to over 450 stores across various brands such as SPAR, EUROSPAR and VIVO. We source from local farmers, growers and producers and are proud to contribute to our local economy and environment.

The purpose of the role:
As a Projects Administrator, you will provide administrative support across the department’s sub-teams, this role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the function.
Working closely with all sub-teams, the role offers valuable exposure to a wide range of business activities, providing the successful candidate with a strong understanding of how the category development & quality department operates as a whole.
Working as Projects Administrator you will:
- Plan & organise their workload to accommodate all requests with a focus on the company’s Promotion Cycle calendar and Project timelines.
- Be an excellent & clear communicator within the team and to external teams giving regular updates on progress.
- Complete within a timely manner & confirm as completed.
- Be organised with all documentation & as a cross-department support will need a good knowledge of the various department Libraries within the SharePoint site.
- Be encouraged to make informed decisions or recommendations based on the skills, knowledge & experience they have.
- Be prepared to problem solve & seek the solution but also have the confidence to seek help with the wider team through Brainstorming. We will always encourage the successful candidate to suggest continuous Improvement by having the confidence to propose any process of change to enhance communication or process if they feel an improvement could be made.
- Have good people management skills and be realistic with others’ expectations & timelines based on current & planned work.
- General administrative Duties
You will be responsible for working with the following teams:
- Retail Serviced Foods – (RSF) & Commercial Managers
Working closely with the team, the successful candidate will develop a comprehensive knowledge of how the world of RSF operates. From initial stages of conception & innovation, working with a wide supply chain, recipe & margin management, allergen matrices, and Point of Sale (POS) at store level & invoicing.
- New Product Development (NPD)
Working alongside the NPD team the successful candidate will gain an insight into the processes for developing products with a wide external OB supplier base including (ourselves at Henderson Kitchen) to see how we identify gaps in store and fill them with Retail packs as we continue our Own Brand journey.
- Quality Assurance – (QA)
Working alongside the QA team will allow the successful candidate to witness all the elements this team operate in to keep our teams, stores, & our consumers safe, legal, & satisfied with special emphasis on RSF & Own Brand elements.
Skills for Success
Joining us as Projects Administrator the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience in an administrative role within a food business sector OR Project administrator role
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
- A Full, valid UK/EU driving licence with access to your own vehicle

- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

It is Desirable if you have:
- Experience within the food industry
- Interest in Food Development
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and ensure timely delivery of goods and service

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid and flexible working arrangement available.
