Henderson Wholesale is a leading Wholesaler in Northern Ireland and supplies goods to over 450 stores across various brands such as SPAR, EUROSPAR and VIVO. We source from local farmers, growers and producers and are proud to contribute to our local economy and environment.

The Purpose of the role:

 

Reporting to the Customer Engagement Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Marketing team in developing and executing the digital marketing strategy for Henderson Group’s retail brands.

 

Collaborating closely with the Customer Engagement and wider Marketing teams, you will be responsible for driving social media brand marketing efforts, leveraging every opportunity to enhance brand presence, optimize sales, and deliver value through effective and well-executed digital campaigns.

 

Working as Social Media Executive you will:

 

  • Work with digital and social media agencies to plan and implement the promotional social media schedule.  

  • Work with the content executives and wider marketing team to create and review the content of the brand social media channels i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, You Tube (and review new channels)

  • Create artwork for digital content across all social platforms. 

  • Create and manager the social media content calendars for all brands (SPAR/ EUROSPAR/ ViVO /ViVOXTRA).

  • Manage promotional social media budget for all brands. 

  • Assist the CE Marketing Manager in planning, execute and monitor the performance of all social media campaigns in line with brand objectives

  • Monitor, respond to and field all complaints and queries on social media

  • Work with the brand team and agencies to measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)

  • Keep up-to-date on trends and insights 

  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies

  • Ensure the digital marketing campaigns are on brand and synchronized with PR and offline marketing efforts

  • Support wider digital team as and when required.

  • Provide digital marketing training and guidance for our network of 400+ stores          

  • Additional duties may be required to work on other areas of the business as requested by management

 

Skills for Success

 

Joining us as Social Media Executive the minimum criteria you’ll need is:

 

  • A third-level qualification in marketing, digital marketing, or a closely related marketing field.

  • A minimum of 2 years recent experience in digital marketing activation

  • Proven expertise in managing and creating engaging content for social media campaigns, with hands-on experience in campaign monitoring.

  • Extensive knowledge of META Business Ads Manager and its application in effective campaign management.

  • Experience in coordinating and managing relationships with digital agencies to deliver marketing goals.

  • Strong experience in setting up and managing comprehensive paid social media campaigns across platforms such as META and TikTok.

  • At least 2 years of experience in social media monitoring, including handling customer interactions and feedback online.

  • Proficiency in using digital artwork tools such as Photoshop, Canva, capcut or equivalent software to create and edit content.

  • Full Valid UK/EU Driving License 

 

The Attributes you’ll need include:

 

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proficiency in IT, including Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while being receptive to guidance

  • Proactive and positive approach, thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Skilled at building effective working relationships across all levels and departments

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing business priorities

 

It is Desirable if you have:

 

  • Knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), and website management, particularly with CMS platforms like Umbraco.

  • Practical knowledge of managing social media campaign budgets to ensure optimal performance and ROI. 

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed digital design and agency briefs for marketing projects. 

  • Experience in B2C marketing/ FMCG or retail sectors.

  • Familiarity with project planning and management tools.

  • Experience in preparing design and agency briefs.

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid and flexible working arrangement available.
